(NEW YORK) – June 13, 2013. Charitable organization Books For Heroes will sponsor an event for #1 New York Times bestselling author Brad Thor on July 12 at 7:00 PM to promote his latest thriller, HIDDEN ORDER (Atria Books, July 9, 2013). The event will take place at Rivermont Station Shopping Center--8465 Holcomb Bridge Road, Suite 420 (next to Mona Lisa’s restaurant). Brad will speak and sign purchased copies of HIDDEN ORDER. For every hardcover of HIDDEN ORDER sold at this event, Emily Bestler Books/Atria Books/Brad Thor will match and donate a copy to Books For Heroes.

Books For Heroes is a non-profit organization that sends books to soldiers serving in Iraq, Afghanistan, and wherever else freedom is being defended. To date, Books For Heroes has shipped over 120,000 books overseas to military heroes.

Thor made headlines last year by opening readers’ eyes to the state of total surveillance in BLACK LIST. This summer, he returns with his trademark “faction” style—blurring the line between fact and fiction—to weave what he believes to be America’s next hot button issue into his thirteenth thriller, HIDDEN ORDER.

HIDDEN ORDER uncovers the sinister beginnings of an American institution more secretive than the CIA, FBI and NSA, and once again features his hero, Navy SEAL turned counterterrorism operative Scot Harvath.

Thor has served as a member of the Department of Homeland Security’s Analytic Red Cell Program and is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of twelve previous thrillers. He has appeared on Fox News Channel, MSNBC, CNN, CNN Headline News, ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS and The Blaze as a National Security Expert to discuss terrorism, as well as how closely his novels of international intrigue parallel the real threats facing the world today.

We are Books For Heroes Charitable Foundation

We are on a mission.

Of course, our mission is nothing like that of our gallant soldiers, sailors, pilots and Marines in Iraq, Afghanistan and wherever else freedom is being defended. But it does have everything to do with their steadfast courage and love of country.

A few years ago we wanted to supply these incredible warriors with as many quality books as possible. It was just a small way for our literary friends, customers, publishers and authors throughout the country to say thanks. We done so by sending more than 120,000 books overseas to our military heroes.

Although the cost of doing this is daunting.

Care packages overseas cost $13.45 each & care packages to V.A. Hospitals stateside $15.45 each.

Every care package contains a new Bible, a variety of both fiction & non-fiction titles, often signed by the authors.

We include donated hard candy, baby-wipes, Gold Bond powder, socks, as available.

Most of all, everyone involved with this project would like to thank you and extend a hearty “God Bless America & God Bless Our Courageous Military Men & Women, Wherever They May Be!”
